The Color of Money: Light Green in '09

I'm excited about this week's MarketingProfs seminar, Green to Gold: Why Companies are Going Green, and How You Can Also Profit from Smart Green Marketing. It's led by Andrew Winston, the co-author of Green to Gold, the best-selling guide to what works — and what doesn't — when companies go green and a globally recognized expert on green business.

The downturn in the economy obviously dominates the business pages these days. Discussion of "green" may seem like it has taken a back seat. As Andrew writes in this week's newsletter:

"Over the past two years 'green' has become part of nearly every serious business discussion. But what will happen now in this damaged economy?"

He concludes: "It would be silly to suggest that the intensity of the focus on green will continue unabated. But we'll see a form of what I'll call 'light green' this year.

I'm curious to find out what he means by that, exactly, and how it applies to doing business today. Check out Andrew's seminar, and join us (or replay it later) if you can.

Weekly update: As of yesterday, 9,281 of you registered to attend Digital Marketing World, featuring keynote David Plouffe. As my Midwest friends would ask, "Are you coming with?"
