FOX gets the most online mentions per day on average of any television network, according to a recent report from Brandwatch.

The report was based on an analysis of nearly 1 million online mentions of 36 television networks as well as streaming services Hulu and Netflix.

The researchers looked at direct TV network brand mentions (not individual shows) on Twitter, Facebook, news outlets, and blogs.

Fox, MTV, BBC One, HBO, and the Food Network are top networks generating online conversation, the analysis found.

However, streaming service Netflix gets far more mentions on average per day than any traditional television network.

MTV is the most efficient network in responding to online mentions in a timely manner, the analysis found. The outlet has the fastest response time on average of any network examined (1.5 minutes on average) despite having the third highest volume of daily mentions.

About the research: The report was based on an analysis of nearly 1 million online mentions of 36 television networks as well as streaming services Hulu and Netflix. The researchers looked at direct TV network brand mentions (not individual shows) on Twitter, Facebook, news outlets, and blogs.
