Numbers are not my forte, but recently my words are getting stuck someplace in my center and I am struggling to retrieve them so I can put them in writing. Not a good thing for a person who makes a living creating words for others to read. And that is where the numbers come in.
Since last July, I have written a book, posted 209 articles on bizsolutionsplus, 37 here at the Daily Fix, published a half-dozen magazine articles, contributed to two books, produced four white papers, amd wrote three presentations. And that is in addition to my business marketing efforts and the marketing work I create for my clients,
Is it any wonder that I am on paragraph 4 of this post after 15 minutes, when normally I would have written the entire piece?
Our friend Gianandrea posted Unplug Yourself, a call to rediscover our lives. In the post he says, "unplug ourself, switch off all our device and get into the real life.... in the meantime, get unplugged, have a walk, get lost in you city, discover places where you have never been before, rediscover places where you have been since long time." In a comment, Gavin says he senses our community is experiencing burnout.
I can't speak for anyone else, but during my 40-year communications career, this is the first time finding the passion to create the words is like a mud wrestling match, and I'm getting pinned. So if you don't mind, I'm taking Gianandrea's advice and inviting my muse for a walk.
